I’m Rory, a Behavioural Data Scientist based in Plymouth, UK.

 About Me

I've spent the last six years researching human memory and cognition, culminating in a PhD investigating the relationship between explicit (conscious) and implicit (unconscious) memory. I’m now a Behavioural Data Scientist at Good With, a startup focused on improving financial outcomes and money-related mental health in young adults.

While at the University of Plymouth, I taught and marked content on BSc and MSc psychology modules, specialising in R programming, cognitive psychology, and statistics. Alongside my research, I was also the lead organiser of the Plymouth ReproducibiliTea journal club. Over two years, I built a community around engaging with open science, research methods, and a fair and inclusive research culture.

I've also published over 25 blogs and web articles on data science, programming, psychology, and more. You can find my work on sites like Built In, and Medium publications like Towards Data Science and Level Up Coding.

Outside of work, you'll find me enjoying the outdoors, playing music, and filling up my sketchbook journal, among other things.
